Walk

On Sunday June 12th the city of Richmond hosted the 6th annual Deepak Binning Foundation Celebration of Life Walk. Exceeding the attendance of previous years’ nearly a thousand people came to show their support for cancer research. The walk and its associated activities helped to raise over $25,000 which will be donated to Canuck’s Place, BC Children’s hospital, The Deepak Binning Scholarship Memorial Trust, as well as the promotion of Punjabi Culture and Language.

Community leaders such as the Mayor of Richmond Malcolm Brodie, city councilors; Bill McNaulty, Linda Barnes, MLA for East Richmond Linda Reid, newly elected Richmond/Steveston MLA. Politicians such as East Richmond/Delta MP John Cummings, Minister for Multiculturalism Raymond Chan representing Richmond Centre as well as Punjabi community leaders came to show their support.
